Our stud breeding heritage runs deep
Tallangalook principal Nick Trompf’s family has stud cattle in his veins.
Maternal grandfather, the late Stanley Brook, founded the highly-successful Eloora Shorthorns in 1959 while Nick’s father, the late Mark Trompf, spent more than 50 years immersed in Poll Hereford studs such as Deepfields, The Braes and Flowerdale Farm before launching his own Warrawoona Poll Herefords and later Beauvista Salers.
Today Nick and wife Alison run the Tallangalook studs across three properties on the Atherton Tablelands. The Tallangalook studs are both guided by the same principles – breeding functional, fertile cattle backed by deep data able to work in a range of environments for customers pursuing a variety of markets. Calves with moderate birthweight which mature quickly and have excellent meat quality, aided by our non-negotiable approach to quiet temperament. Our bulls are bred in ticky, humid conditions so adapt readily when they go out to work. The hybrid vigour generated by crossing Shorthorn and Santa bulls over Brahman and Droughtmaster-based herds is proving highly successful for our customers. These F1 progeny make exceptional steers or milky, maternal females
